No Class 9/29

I guess everyone is still in the "back-to-school" mode. Someone said there were Teachers' Conferences this week.

We have some great classes coming up in October. I'll post them in the next few days.

I'll be at the library beading...

Hope to see you soon!

Have UFOs landed at YOUR house??? Gather them up/dust them off and bring them to the monthly "Bead Social/UFO Night".

Don't bead alone - come join the fun and bead yourself happy. As one student says "It's cheaper than therapy!"

This is a working class for beaders who may have questions or need a quick refresher in any area of beading. There will be no specific instruction but lots of one-on-one time with students. A great class to get motivated to finish your UFOs (UnFinished Objects) or WIPs (Work In Progress), get back into beading, start a new project, or for social beading. Please bring along some of your finished projects to show the class.

Supplies: beads, stringing material and findings, a bead board or bead mat is also recommended

STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THIS CLASS MUST HAVE TAKEN A PREVIOUS CLASS WITH THIS ME.

Don't forget, you MUST sign up for class at the store, or notify me that you will attending, at least 24 hours in advance or the class will be canceled.

Happy Beading!

Had to Cancel Class on Wednesday

Sad to say, but no one signed up for this class so it was canceled. I was sad because I LOVE teaching peyote stitch. I guess it's because it took me a few tries to learn it myself and I like to see when someone else "gets" it.

I couldn't NOT bead on a Wednesday night so I went over to MM's house. I was treated to a violin solo by her son before we started beading. He's only had one lesson so far and I thought he did well. If it was me it would have sounded like cats being strangled!!! LOL MM made some peyote beads and I worked on my pink beaded beads. They all look GREAT. When I get my project finished I'll post pics.

Don't forget, you MUST sign up for class at the store, or notify me that you will attending, at least 24 hours in advance or the class will be canceled.

Next week is our monthy Bead Social/UFO Night. Hope to see you there!

Happy Beading!

Peyote stitch is probably the most popular beading stitch - but not always the easiest to learn! This class will cover basic even count peyote stitch. Students will make a small piece during class that can be turned into a ring, tube bead, pendant or the start of a bracelet. Project WILL NOT be completed in class. THIS IS A STITCH CLASS USING NEEDLE AND THREAD.

Supply List:
• several colors of delica, seed or cube beads (depending on project)
• assorted other beads for accents and edging (Intermediate students)
• beading thread (ex. Fireline or Wildfire (recommended), Nymo or Dandyline)
• beading needles (at least 2)
• thread conditioner (recommended by not necessary)
• beading needles
• stringing material (ex. Beadalon) - optional
• findings (ear wires, head pins, clasp, crimps) - optional

Tools:
• scissors
• bead board and/or bead mat (recommended but not necessary)

It took me a while to learn it but thanks to a WONDERFUL tip I learned from one of my beading idols, Leslie Rogalski, Peyote Stitch is my FAVORITE stitch! I'll pass along her tip and maybe it will become one of your favorites too!

Hope to see you soon. Happy beading!
