Daisy Chain Bracelet/Necklace Class - 8/4 @ 6:00pm

Class Title: Beading/Jewelry Making – Daisy Chain Bracelet/Necklace (Beginner/Intermediate)

Create lots of little colorful flowers with a basic bead weaving stitch to create a pretty bracelet or necklace. Vary the colors and size of beads for endless possibilities. Students should be able to complete their project during class. This class is suitable for children 12 and older and adults.

THIS IS A STITCH CLASS USING NEEDLE AND THREAD.

Supply List:
• assortment of E and/or seed beads
• beading thread (ex. Fireline, Nymo or Dandyline)
• beading needles
• spring, lobster claw or magnetic clasp (toggles are NOT recommended)
• bead tips (clam shells)

Tools:
• scissors
• bead board and/or bead mat (recommended but not necessary)

I hope you're having a good summer. Can you believe it's August already? It sure has been warm. Luckily my studio (aka my "craft cave") is nice and cool.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been trying (for probably the hundredth time) to reorganize my studio. Hmm... Do I sort my beads by color or type? There are pros and cons to each method. I sort one way and then decide I want it another. Ahhh!

Bead Social/UFO Night - Wednesday, July 28 @ 6PM

Have UFOs landed at YOUR house??? Gather them up/dust them off and bring them to the monthly "Bead Social/UFO Night".

 

Don't bead alone - come join the fun and bead yourself happy. As one student says "It's cheaper than therapy!" Sometimes we even have baked goodies. How can you pass that up?

This is a working class for beaders who may have questions or need a quick refresher in any area of beading. There will be no specific instruction but lots of one-on-one time with students. A great class to get motivated to finish your UFOs (UnFinished Objects) or WIPs (Work In Progress), get back into beading, start a new project, or for social beading. Also, a chance to meet new friends and see old ones. Please bring along some of your finished projects to show the class.

Supplies: beads, stringing material and findings, a bead board or bead mat is also recommended

STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THIS CLASS MUST HAVE TAKEN A PREVIOUS CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND AND WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON SO THAT I BRING THE APPROPRIATE TOOLS/SUPPLIES.

Memory Wire Pearl Cuff Bracelet Class - July 7, 2010

Class Title: Memory Wire Pearl Cuff Bracelet (Beginner/Intermediate)

Memory wire is very versatile and not just for kids’ jewelry. Learn to make a pearl cuff bracelet using several cut coils instead of one continuous piece of memory wire. No clasp or special finishing is needed because these items just wrap around the wrist. Students will go home with a completed bracelet. This class is suitable for children 12 and older and adults.

Supply List:
• Glass pearls (or other beads)
• Fancy button (optional)
• multi strand spacers, double-holed beads and/or “sliders” (optional)
• 2” eye pins or head pins (optional)
• bracelet size memory wire

Tools:
• chain nose pliers
• memory wire cutters
• bead board and/or bead mat (recommended but not necessary)

Pearl & Chain Necklace Class - 6/9 @ 6:00pm

Class Title: Beading/Jewelry Making – Pearl & Chain Necklace

In this wire work class students will learn several wire wrapping techniques (basic loops, double loops and wrapped loops) to incorporate two of the hottest trends, pearls and chains, into one stunning necklace. (Depending on complexity of design, project MIGHT NOT be completed in class.)

Supply List:
· pearls (real or glass)
· spacer beads and/or crystals (optional)
· unfinished chain
· clasp
· 22g beading wire in coordinating color to chain

Tools:
· wire cutters
· round nose pliers
· flat nose pliers
· crimping pliers
· bead board and/or bead mat (recommended but not necessary)
