UFO Night/Bead Social - TONIGHT

It's that time of the month again...

Come join the fun at the monthly "Bead Social/UFO Night" and bead yourself happy. Just $10!

As one student says "It's cheaper than therapy!"

Have UFOs landed at YOUR house??? Gather them up/dust them off and bring them to the monthly Bead Social. Don't bead alone! This is a working class for beaders who may have questions or need a quick refresher in any area of beading. There will be no specific instruction but lots of one-on-one time with students. A great class to get motivated to finish your UFOs (UnFinished Objects), get back into beading, start a new project, or for social beading. Also, a chance to meet new friends and see old ones.

Please bring along some of your finished projects to show the class.

"Bead Social/UFO Night" is usually held the last Wednesday of the month from 6:00pm - 8:15pm at the AC Moore in Dover/Rockaway.

Supplies: Beads, stringing material and findings
Cost: $10 + supplies

STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THIS CLASS MUST HAVE TAKEN A PREVIOUS CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER.

CLASS CHANGE for Wednesday, June 10th- Byzantine and Crystal Bracelet NOT Caged Crystals Bracelet

I switched the class for this week from Caged Crystals Bracelet to Byzantine and Crystal Bracelet.

Here are the details...

The Byzantine chain is a great project that has many variations by changing the size and color of the jump rings. In this project we'll be putting crystals or other beads between each 14 ring segment.

Supplies: Jump Rings, Medium to large beads or crystals, Clasp, safety pin or bag tie

Tools: Bent nose pliers, chain nose pliers, bead mat

Beadfest!

It's never too early to start thinking about Beadfest. I've been thinking about it since the day I got home from it last year!!!

This year Beadfest Philly will be held August 19-23.

We'll be attending Beadfest on Friday, August 21. So far we have 4 people going on the "beadventure" with us. We may have another seat or two available so let me know if you want to go with us.

Make sure you get the rebate form ($5 off one spool NOT $8 off two spools) at the store because they are NOT available on the Berkley website. This is a Dick's exclusive rebate.

If you do any bead weaving stitches - right angle weave, peyote, herringbone, brick, spiral stitch - you should go get a spool or two. I use 6lb. test the most. I occasionally use 4lb. and 8lb. test. I prefer the crystal color because you can use a Sharpie marker to color the fishing line to match your beadwork.

Class Suggestions?

I've been trying to come up with some new ideas for upcoming classes. So far I have the schedule submitted through the end of July.

Does anyone have anything specific they want to learn?

Can't make it Wednesday night and would prefer another day/time?

Please let me know ASAP and I'll try to get it worked in to the schedule.

June 3 – Right Angle Weave Pearl and Crystal Bracelet (Beg./Int.)

Right Angle Weave (RAW) is a popular and versatile stitch. This class will cover both single and double needle flat RAW. This stitch will be used to weave together pearls and crystals (or similar beads) into a beautiful bracelet. Students should be able to complete a bracelet during class. THIS IS A STITCH CLASS USING NEEDLE AND THREAD.

(Limit 8 students)

Supplies: 6mm pearls and round crystals (not bicones) or similar 6mm round beads; beading thread or braided fishing line (i.e. Fireline); beading needles; thread conditioner (i.e. Thread Heaven) (optional); clasp; a bead mat is also recommended

Cost: $20 + supplies

Location: AC Moore Dover/Rockaway

Time: 6:00pm - 8:15pm
